2009 Bursary Applications:
I encourage all my friends, no matter how well
they play, to come to the VFS. It's a place
where you could have been playing for two weeks
and no-one cares as long as you're having fun
and trying.
I haven't felt this musically inspired,
challenged and alive for probably 20 years and
this time I'm determined not to let 'life' get
in the way.
I love everything about the fiddle: the bowing;
the beat; the thousand different styles; but
most of all the fact that playing the fiddle has
brought me a sense of togetherness and many
great friends.
I'm quite overwhelmed with the generosity of
spirit, talent and love of song that abounds
within the VFS. Such positive energy and genuine
interest in cultivating the love of this music
in our community is rare, in my experience, and
I'm so pleased to find myself a part of it? Who
knew I was a fiddle player?
My goals are, and always will be, to always
learn, to always improve and to never stop
playing.
Everybody deserves to be part of the music
society, and performing and playing fiddle
music, we are giving EVERYONE a chance to share
something we know and love, that, in my opinion,
is critical to enjoying life-----MUSIC!!!
I plan on studying and playing till I reach the
ripe old age where I either can't hold, hear or
see the fiddle anymore.
My dream is to become a world class five star
fiddler who shares music with people from around
the globe. I want to give kids who are less
fortunate than me the gift of music. Making
people feel good and smile is the greatest feat
I have done with my music. I love making music.
Music is my favourite hobby. Music is great!
You know what? I think music is one of the Seven
Wonders of the World. I wish people could use
music to stop wars.
