Over the next few months
I'm going to start
collecting, compiling,
writing and editing info
with the hopes of
creating a Victoria
Fiddle Society Memoirs
and Tune Book. I know
that many of you will
have some great material
and other input that I
would find invaluable,
so if you don't mind
perusing the following
list of things and then
emailing me at vfsbook@bckitchenparty.com with
anything that you think
may be of interest, I'd
greatly appreciate
it.
A) Stories
B) Pictures (from jams,
events, Cape Breton
exchange etc.)
C) Your ideas
D) Your 5 Favourite
tunes (just the names,
not the music)
E) Discography of
'LOCAL' fiddle talent on
CD (or Cassette, LP etc)
So, from this list you
can see that this book
may very well end up
being a book about
'Fiddling in Victoria'
and not just about the
VFS. It will be an
adventure to put it all
together and the info
you send will no doubt
effect the shape of it.
The book will
undoubtedly help
to define a 'unique
Victoria fiddle
repertoire' and proceeds
from local sales will go
directly to the VFS to
continue our support for
fiddling in our
community.
Thanks,
Your
President,
Daniel Lapp
