Award winning Irish style fiddler Blake Ritter began with classical violin training at the age of 6 in his home town of Arcata, California. His classical background has given him the technical ability to stand out as a skillful and passionate player. 

Having won numerous fiddle championships through his childhood and teens, 23 year old Blake had the honour of taking 1st Place in the North American Regional Fleadh Cheoil, which he followed by earning an All-Ireland Championship in 2007. 

Blake has studied with some of the greatest fiddle players in the Celtic tradition both in the U.S. & during his visits to Ireland. His teachers include Alasdair Fraser, Martin Hayes, Kevin Burke, Oisin MacDiarmada, Sean Smyth (Lunasa)  and the late Scottish fiddle legend Johnny Cunningham.  Blake is known for his clean and energetic style, garnered from his classical training and his passion and commitment to Irish traditional music.  Blake Ritter has been wowing audiences and is quickly earning a place in the Irish Traditional Fiddle world as an up and coming talent not only as a performer but also as a teacher.
